One of the biggest benefits of professional development is the relationships you make. Each of our workshops is limited to twelve of you. By only working with small groups, you’ll get the chance to know and to learn from everyone else.
It’s tough getting to know someone who lives across the country. It can feel even tougher to create connections with them. By grouping everyone regionally, you can actually meet for coffee or take some turns together outside of our virtual workshops.

This program is for, but not limited to, mid-career professionals looking to grow their careers in the outdoor space. If you have a few years under your belt, want to grow your leadership skills, and are excited to meet others who are in the same place, we’d love for you to join!
We’ll be running 6-month programs twice per year: the first will begin in mid-June and run through mid-November 2021. The next sessions will begin mid-January through mid-June 2022.
The regions will be determined after registration opens. As participants register, they’ll be put into regional groups with others in the same area. For example, as registrations come in from folks in and around Seattle, Denver, the Bay Area, the Northeast, they’ll be placed in those groups. The whole intent is to make it easy for everyone to actually do stuff together in person.
The process should take 1-2 weeks. First, you’ll fill out a short form that will include where you work. We’ll then confirm your company’s or your organization’s OIA membership before sending you a link to pay for the program.
You know what they say: you get out of these things what you put into them. That said, we’ll have monthly 90-minute virtual calls with your regional group, and we’ll send you an email with resources between those calls with exercises to consider. Monthly, you should dedicate at least a few hours to begin getting value from the program.
In one word, yes. Time management is up to you of course, but this program isn’t built to add extra stress and complication to your life. It’s actually built to provide support (both professionally and personally) and to help you balance your career.
Registration will be open from April 15th through May 31st, 2021.
The experience is 6-months long. It includes six workshops every month and an optional celebration with all regional groups the month following the end of the program.
We believe in the power of the cohort and the magic that comes along with sharing an experience from beginning to end. Therefore, at this time we’re not allowing individuals to join specific workshops. Of course, we understand life happens. If there’s a circumstance that comes up which prevents you from completing the program, we’re happy to work with you.
If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, we’re happy to refund you in full up to one week before the first workshop. If something comes up during the program, we’ll work with you to come up with a solution.

Sendline came from a dissatisfaction with the status quo in professional development. No one looks forward to a leadership conference. So we had to go about things differently. As mid-career professionals, we asked ourselves what would we want to be a part of and what would actually help us. We designed a low-polish, straightforward, and genuine alternative to leadership development centered around workshops, retreats, and outdoor events. We call it, simply, ‘Leadership in disguise.’
A Windrose, also known as a Compass Rose, is the part of the compass responsible for directing true north. At the most simplistic level, that represents much of the work I do to support groups and organizations: aligning on purpose, building unified teams, establishing clear and open communication, collaborating through conflict, and prioritizing peer accountability. I fully believe organizations have the greatest chance for success when they can be in authentic unison and action on their true north.
