People work for people, and they work
better when they work for better people.

Companies need leaders.

Every year, a few hundred billion dollars are spent on leadership development. The result: It’s not working. What’s worse? Turnover costs a trillion dollars every year. Wow. One-size-fits-all curriculum taught classroom-style by The Expert doesn’t stick. It definitely doesn’t lead to long-lasting change, if any at all. With webinars and assessments becoming all the rage, we can’t expect anything different. Let’s stop. Remember what’s important: People feeling heard. Giving them the space to talk openly with experienced guides and each other about all the stuff they’re faced with every day. Spoiler: No classrooms or PowerPoint. Instead, candid conversations in casual, outdoor spaces.

How we approach learning.

For it to work, we have to come at it differently. It has to be a few things.

At a glance

Ongoing

Change takes time. We use that to our advantage by designing a program with you that lets everyone learn, then go practice before coming back to talk through their experience.

Candid

We can’t have walls if we want change. By working with small groups, we’re able to provide the space for everyone to really open up and share.

Conversational

Lecturing and presenting is great for passing along information. It’s not great for changing behavior. Folks need to talk through their situations, hear from others, and draw their own conclusions.

Simplify and amplify. Those three words guide me. At home, at work, and in the mountains. If doing a thing doesn’t simplify other things, so I can do those things better, I don’t do the thing. Boom.

Outdoor industry leader–turned–professional coach out to guide new managers. I’m all about a low–polish, straightforward, casual approach. It’s a tough gig, I know, and I don’t want anyone who wants to be a great boss to have to sit through another stuffy management seminar. Seriously.

Being a boss can be an amazing, rewarding career. I’m here to help.

Greer Van Dyck

Founder, Windrose

I’ve spent most of my career in the outdoor industry, while also pursuing my love of mental and emotional well being. I launched my coaching company, Windrose, so I could combine the two.

I speak to and work with companies about authentic change management and I coach individuals to help them rediscover their core values and truest purpose in the midst of change. I want people to feel empowered and to discover their inner leader. I deeply value honest and practical coaching and guiding those navigating life’s inevitable changes, regardless of what they’re up against.
